We have all heard the expression, “playing second fiddle.” The phrase, “second fiddle” comes from the practice of having the best player of each instrument sit in the first chair position, while the second best player sits in the second chair position and plays the second fiddle part in an orchestra. A lot of people have a real hard time playing second fiddle to someone else’s first fiddle. John the Baptist gave us a wonderful example of how powerful it is to know your position and to serve in it with all your heart. John understood his role and his greatest desire was to glorify Jesus. It's the paradox of Christianity, He must increase, we must decrease, but when this happens we become full of purpose and destiny. It is truly, The Marriage Must.
